Rebuilding Together

Rebuilding Together is a national nonprofit organization that provides critical home rehabilitation and modification services for America's low-income homeowners. Projects are not limited to home improvement, and include community center rehabilitation, playground builds, and other efforts for community development. Rebuilding Together also serves as an advocacy group to preserve affordable homeownership and to support programs and services for low-income homeowners.

It has four main initiatives: Safe at Home, Veterans Housing, Disaster Recovery, and Green Housing. Safe at Home addresses general home safety and accessibility issues, from fire safety and prevention to fall prevention for elderly homeowners. Veterans Housing provides modifications and repair services for retired and active service men and women struggling to make necessary repairs due to severe injuries and financial hardship. The Disaster Recovery initiative helps in assessing a community's recovery needs after a natural disaster and works in partnership with other recovery programs to rebuild neighborhoods and return families to their homes. Green Housing brings funding, education, and expertise to a network of affiliates across the country, reducing the impact on the environment through resource-efficient repairs that lower energy consumption and save homeowners money.

Rebuilding Together's mission is to bring volunteers and communities together for the improvement of the homes and lives of low-income homeowners.

The Rebuilding Together network has over 200 affiliated non-profits in the nation, cumulatively with over 200,000 volunteers completing over 10,000 projects each year.
